Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork has been practiced in the temples of Thailand by Buddhist Monks for 2500 years and is a unique type of bodywork, performed with a connection to the spiritual and in a conscious, meditative state.
Thai Yoga Bodywork combines the best of yoga, massage techniques, meditation, and energy work, into a powerful transformative modality.
This course is designed for yoga teachers, massage therapists and those without any experience at all. In addition to the bodywork itself, yoga teachers will be able to gain confidence and knowledge for giving assists, incorporate Thai Yoga Bodywork into their classes, and have a new holistic service to offer private students. Massage therapists will be able to offer a new modality to their clients right away, and those without any experience can walk away with the ability to give an amazing bodywork session after just one training.
This course will also introduce students to applied fundamentals of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing system and sister science to yoga. We will explore how to apply these fundamentals to help create a highly customized and holistic bodywork session for individual clients.
Clients of Thai Yoga Bodywork report many benefits, including the removal of tension, elimination of pain in the neck, shoulders, back and legs, and a more youthful, deeply relaxed, and refreshed feeling. Join us as we study, experience, and explore the unique techniques and qualities of this ancient living art form, and tap into your innate abilities to give a sensational bodywork session as a meditation in loving kindness and compassion. Experience the meditation in motion the giver receives, while the receiver is gently guided into a state of balanced energy and tranquility.
The program will be taught by Shai Plonski, a twice published best-selling author on books about Thai Yoga Massage. Shai is the founder and director of Still Light Center (a school of Thai Massage), and has 17 years experience teaching Thai Massage to over 5,300 students across three continents.
A certification will be awarded upon completion of the workshop and practicum.
Still Light Center is accredited with NCBTMB for massage continuing education and this course can be used as continuing education with Yoga Alliance.
