Primary Certification Courses
Foundations in Thai Massage Parts 1 & 2
Prerequisites: None | Each course is 21.5 hours (2.5 days of study)
Thai Massage combines the best of yoga, massage, meditation and energy work into a powerful healing modality. Among its many benefits, clients report an amazing ability for the massage to help remove tension, eliminate pain in the neck, shoulders, back and legs and to feel more youthful, deeply relaxed and refreshed.
That is because Thai Massage gets the body to move how it was designed while combining customized massage techniques. As such it helps clients to heal themselves naturally.
What’s more, you learn to give it as a meditation in loving kindness and compassion. As such the benefits are shared and they are profound. By design you’ll learn to massage so that it is at least as good to give as it is to receive.
These classes are designed for yoga teachers, massage therapists and those without any experience. In addition to the massage itself, yoga teachers will be able to gain confidence and knowledge for giving assists, incorporate Thai Massage into their classes and have a new treatment to offer private students. Massage therapists will be able to start offering a new modality to their clients right away. And those without any experience can give a high-level massage even after one weekend of training.
In Level 1 Thai Massage Foundations you will learn a complete 75-minute massage:
- How to massage back, shoulders, legs, feet, head and hands;
- The secrets of developing intuitive touch;
- How to get started on a successful Thai Massage career
This is the first level of a two-part certification program. Students will be required to complete the two levels and a series of practice massages as part of the certification process, but will already be able to give a complete 75-minute massage after finishing this class.
Level 2 Thai Massage Foundations
This class builds on level one by adding 45 minutes of new massage techniques, reinforcing all Level 1 material, and introducing students to the fundamentals of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing system and sister science to yoga. Level 2 teaches students practical, hands-on methods for customizing the massage holistically in order to deepen the therapeutic quality of their practice.
As students learn the fundamentals of Ayurvedic principles and the three mind-body constitutions (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), they will apply these concepts to craft highly customized massages that address physical needs, enhance client relationships, and create a unique massage experience. Learning how to give massage with ones’ knees will help to reduce reliance on hands and thumbs and facilitate deep pressure massage.
Level 2 Foundations in Thai Massage focuses on:
- Reinforcing and deepening the application of Level 1 postures;
- Adding 45 minutes of new techniques to treat areas of greater need such as the shoulders, neck, back, and hamstrings;
- Using the knees as a new touch technique and massage tool;
- Applying Ayurveda to help create a highly customized and holistic massage;

Prerequisites: None| Each course is 21.5 hours (2.5 days of training)
Part 1: Table Thai massage can considerably expand your clientele, while giving you the tools to take even better care of your body and promote a sustainable massage career. This course brings the incredible benefits of Thai massage—including yoga-like stretching, profound relaxation, and energy work—to the comforts of a massage table. Performed on a traditional massage table with the recipient fully clothed, this practice attracts a broad cross-section of people, including athletes, the elderly, overweight clients, and those who simply prefer to be massaged on a table. Massage therapists accustomed to traditional table techniques will reduce injuries to hands and wrists by learning to use their elbows, forearms, feet and other parts of their body. Those accustomed to practicing Thai massage on a mat will augment their practice with a new and accessible form.
After completing this class students will be able to:
- Give a 75-minute Thai massage on a standard size massage table;
- Apply Thai foot reflexology techniques without using the thumbs;
- Use principles of proper body alignment to massage on and around the table in a way that is deeply efficient and effective.
Part 2: This course builds on the foundations learned in Table Thai 1 and expands students’ repertoire to two hours worth of massage techniques. During this course, students will:
- Learn a new 60-minute flow while reviewing all postures and techniques taught in Table Thai 1;
- Incorporate sen lines (energy pathways) into the massage;
- Understand how to customize to accommodate people of different sizes, flexibilities, and limitations.
